newsletter september 25 password management

Google has introduced a new, simpler and more structured password management system for devices running Android 12 and above.

To define the type of password that can be configured on devices, administrators can choose between the following three security levels:

  • Low: pattern or PIN of at least 4 characters that can be ordered or repeated
  • Medium: PIN of at least 4 non-ordered, non-repeating characters or password of at least 4 characters
  • High: PIN of at least 8 non-ordered, non-repeating characters or password of at least 6 characters

If your devices are running Android 11 and below, the choice of password type remains the same.
