STRUCTURE: WHAT’S IT FOR?
For clear and secure management
Reminder: What is a manager on TinyMDM?
A manager is someone who accesses the TinyMDM admin console to manage mobile devices. You can create as many managers as needed, each with specific permissions. This allows you to distribute responsibilities across multiple people within your organization.

Why use the Structure feature?
Do multiple managers use the TinyMDM admin console, each managing different devices within your organization? Then the Structure feature is made for you!
Instead of giving all managers the same level of access to the entire console, TinyMDM allows you to organize access rights by creating hierarchical levels, for example by subsidiaries or departments. Each manager is limited to what actually concerns them based on their role. The result: each manager only sees what they need to manage, nothing more.
How does it work?
1. Create your structure
Add entities (hierarchical levels) based on your company’s organization.
2. Assign managers
Managers are assigned to specific entities, which define the scope of their access:
- Assigned to a top-level entity, a manager has full visibility over the entire console
- Assigned to a mid-level entity, a manager can access that entity and all of its sub-entities
- Assigned to a lower-level entity, a manager’s access is restricted to that specific entity only
3. Link user groups
By linking your user groups to an entity, you restrict their visibility in the console based on the manager’s level. This is done from the Users and Groups tab.
